ABOUT BOSHANTI
25 years ago in 1986 we found out 1st Tibetan Terrier and it changed my life, having had Afghans for 15 years it was such a difference to have such jolly companion dogs. She was a black & white little bundle of fun and her petname was Shanti – hence ‘Boshanti’ became our Kennel club affix.
Having been so smitten by the breed we decided to let our girl have a litter in order to keep a daughter. Luckily we came across Pat & Mike Tempest who were a great help and guided us.
Some years later we bred the daughter Lottie to a newly imported dog Ch Karamain Brahmin at Alilah which then produced Caramel Dancer for us who was a gold sable girl with a big sense of humour and adventure. We were guided into showing her by Pat and Mike and she qualified for Crufts at her first show and there it all started off. I showed her reasonable successfully for a few years and then had Ch Alilah Novana who became my foundation bitch. We still have ‘Nellie’ who is 17 now. She was quite well known in the show ring for her ever changing colours and judges would ask me ‘what colour is she this week’. A few years later we also added Ch Kashi Heavenly Hiraani who we had from Sue Dykes to our family and she also became the dam of some very successful show girls
For years we had always used stud dogs, mainly dogs which were owned by ‘Alilah’. In 2005 I decided to keep my first male and bred Boshanti Romeo who became my first homebred champion
Our dogs live in the house and the ‘dog room’ we do not have kennels and the dogs have free access to an orchard and have a covered run for when the weather is wet.
Overall we have been very lucky with having quite a few of our dogs reaching 16 years old and over with one reaching nearly 19 years old when we lost her.
